چکیده
Abstract. Vehicular exhaust is one of the important contribution sources secondary organic aerosol (SOA) in urban areas. Long-chain alkanes and aromatic hydrocarbons are included gaseous pollutants vehicle emissions, representative diesel gasoline vehicles respectively. In this work, SOA production from individual anthropogenic volatile compounds (AVOCs) (n-dodecane, 1,3,5-trimethylbenzene) mixed AVOCs (n-dodecane + was studied with a large-scale outdoor smog chamber. Results showed that formation enhanced compared to predicted mass concentration based on yield AVOCs. According results spectrometry analysis electrospray ionization time-of-flight (ESI-ToF-MS), interaction occurred between intermediate products two precursors, which could be main reason for AVOC reaction system. The study improve our understanding about precursors vehicular This also indicates further studies chemistry VOC system needed, as interactions them effect can give us formed atmosphere.

Formation of Low Volatility Organic Compounds and Secondary Organic Aerosol from Isoprene Hydroxyhydroperoxide Low-NO Oxidation.
Gas-phase low volatility organic compounds (LVOC), produced from oxidation of isoprene 4-hydroxy-3-hydroperoxide (4,3-ISOPOOH) under low-NO conditions, were observed during the FIXCIT chamber study. Decreases in LVOC directly correspond to appearance and growth in secondary organic aerosol (SOA) of consistent elemental composition, indicating that LVOC condense (at OA below 1 μg m(-3)). This re...

[1] We report the detection of a class of related oxygenated compounds by proton-transfer-reaction mass-spectrometry (PTR-MS) that have rarely or never been observed as a group using in situ instrumentation. Measurements were made as part of the International Consortium for Atmospheric Research on Transport and Transformation (ICARTT) 2004 in Chebogue Point, Nova Scotia. The detected class of c...
متن کاملHigh formation of secondary organic aerosol from the photo-oxidation of toluene
Toluene and other aromatics have long been viewed as the dominant anthropogenic secondary organic aerosol (SOA) precursors, but the SOA mass yields from toluene reported in previous studies vary widely. Experiments conducted in the Carnegie Mellon University environmental chamber to study SOA formation from the photooxidation of toluene show significantly larger SOA production than parameteriza...
متن کاملOn the flux of oxygenated volatile organic compounds from organic aerosol oxidation
[1] Previous laboratory and field studies suggest that oxidation of organic aerosols can be a source of oxygenated volatile organic compounds (OVOC). Using measurements of atmospheric oxidants and aerosol size distributions performed on the NASA DC-8 during the INTEX-NA campaign, we estimate the potential magnitude of the continental summertime OVOC flux from organic aerosol oxidation by OH to ...

This thesis describes efforts made on the development of an existing catalytic incinerator. The development work, called process characterization, consists of four general parts. These are the development of measurement methodology, the studying of construction materials, the selection of suitable catalysts and the testing of the effects of process operation conditions. The two application area...
